91st meridian91st Meridian is an electronic publication of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City (41° 38' N /91° 33' W). It appears intermittently, and aims to contribute to general reading beyond the (national, linguistic, cultural) borders of the Anglophone sphere.
We included fiction, poetry, essays, non-fiction and book reviews as long as the material reflects, in some way, the world as a space of literary transit and translation.

poroiPOROI (ISSN 2151-2957) is sponsored by Project on the Rhetoric of Inquiry at the University of Iowa and the University of South Florida. The journal explores the dynamics of scientific, technical, medical, and other knowledge-producing fields, emphasizing their diversity and the multiplicity. This includes work on scientific rhetoric, medical rhetorics that explore health and embodied experiences, technological rhetorics that address the interplay of society and innovation, and studies situated in science and technology studies (STS) or information studies. The journal invites contributions that challenge monolithic views and foster interdisciplinary inquiry while continuing to welcome submissions from those working in established rhetoric disciplines.
As an online journal, POROI publishes a variety of formats, including traditional academic articles, podcast interviews, multimedia projects, and other innovative forms of scholarship that contribute to the understanding rhetoric in diverse contexts. POROI maintains flexibility in its publication schedule, appearing as submissions warrant. This allows for multiple issues per year, along with the possibility of publishing single articles, special symposia, or issues by guest editors. POROI uses Creative Commons licenses and is open access. Authors retain the right to their work.

The primary focus should be on the outreach as opposed to the research itself. The journal is published by the University of Iowa as a joint effort of the Latham Science Engagement Initiative and the Digital Scholarship and Publishing Studio.
