Whitman and Baudelaire

Author

Abstract

Examines the relation between Whitman and Baudelaire and contends that there is "very little doubt that Whitman knew something about Baudelaire from his reading of (George) Saintsbury," but that Baudelaire likely knew little of Whitman and that "it is doubtful that Baudelaire would have cared for the man or his poetry."
