Abstract
Surveys Whitman's influence on Finnish poets, critics, and readers from the turn of the century to the present, focussing especially on the work of such poets as Elmer Diktonius, Hagar Olsson, Edith Sodergran, Viljo Kajava, and Arvo Turtiainen.
