Abstract
Argues against the proposal made by Ed Folsom in the Spring 1994 issue of the Walt Whitman Quarterly Review (and in Breaking Bounds: Whitman and American Cultural Studies) that Thomas Eakins' nude photographs of an old man are of Whitman.
