Abstract
Offers a critique of Jean Schwind's essay on Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Whitman (in Walt Whitman Quarterly Review, Summer 1985), questioning Schwind's identification of the Van Gogh painting and the likelihood it was influenced by Whitman; with a response from Jean Schwind.
