Abstract
Compares the texts of James Speed's Oration Upon the Inauguration of the Bust of Abraham Lincoln with writings of Whitman on Lincoln and assesses the poet's editorial influence on Speed's oration, concluding that it "bears the indelible imprint of the poet."
