Abstract
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic brought upon an onslaught of criticisms, doubts, and conspiracies against many large scientific (primarily governmental) institutions, eventually finding its way towards academic and other non-governmental organizations. I created two videos showcasing what a typical day in the lab looks like for a young psychologist and biologist who attended the University of Iowa. Here, they describe the ins & outs of their days, how they acquired their positions, and where they hoped to go after they earn their bachelor's degrees. We also get a great glimpse into their amazing personalities as well as get to meet some of the other members of their respective labs who are all just as ecstatic to discuss their research with me. I hope the main take-home message my readers get from this piece is that many scientists, young and old, are all simply chasing passion projects, with hopes that our work will have some larger impact and benefit for society.
