Exciting Changes to Proceedings in Obstetrics & Gynecology, POG

We are excited to announce that Proceedings in Obstetrics & Gynecology, POG, has shifted its focus to be a journal in which learners at all stages (undergraduate students through research and clinical fellows) as part of a team can publish their short reports, original research results, case reports, research methodologies, and review articles. In the time that learners have available to complete a project, it may be difficult to develop an in-depth manuscript. Rather than have quality work sit in a drawer, we want to help learners share their results. Thus, their work can be the genesis for others to continue in the field and also to allow the learner to gain recognition for their efforts.

Additionally, we are very excited to welcome new editorial board members. Joining our editorial board are Drs. Styliani (Stella) Goulopoulou, PhD, MS from Loma Linda University and Aaron Trask, PhD from The Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. We are also happy to welcome Dr. Serena “Banu” Gumusoglu as our new Scientific Associate Editor. We appreciate the experience and perspective that our Editorial Board brings to the journal.

To increase transparency and scientific rigor, we are also updating our publication policies. Updates include an attestation that the authors have completed this work, have not falsified data, and have not plagiarized text. If concerns arise during the publication process or after publication, authors will be notified of the editorial concerns and can respond.

Thank you to all of you who read and publish in Proceedings in Obstetrics & Gynecology. We are proud to be a part of reducing the disparities that exist in research and to give learners a place where they can share the results of their work.
