James, for many years a professor of American history at the University of Iowa, substantial historical materials, including selected Records of the States of the United States: Rhode Island (17 microfilm reels), The Providence Gazette (1762-1791, 4 microfilm reels), and The Papers of William Blathwayt (4 microfilm reels).
